Good to know

  • Applies to: every SBI credit card, from 1 December 2026.
  • GST: applies on top of the fee.
  • Not stated by SBI: a fee cap, or how it works with the fuel surcharge waiver.
  • Not covered: air, rail and cab bookings aren't in SBI's MCC list, so they shouldn't attract the fee.
  • MCCs: set by the card networks and can change without notice.
  • Tip: move fuel to another card once the cycle nears the limit, and split big transport payments where the merchant allows it.
  • Other fees: this SBI notice covers only these two new fees, nothing else.
